Dire Straits - Autumn In Nimes
Описание материала:
During live concerts, Dire Straits used to blow their impact to full effect. Both soundwise and musically, their live numbers were usually a lot more "wired" compared to their respective studio versions. This live album is an impressive piece of evidence for such a statement.
The opening number Calling Elvis sounds considerably richer compared to its studio equivalent, undergoing an impressive metamorphosis from ugly duckling to swan. During that 10-minute opener, the band displays a remarkable level of energy and enthusiasm which they manage to keep up during the remainder of the concert. Special highlights include Private Investigations, thanks to its unique atmosphere; On Every Street, featuring a brilliantly simple guitar figure; Romeo And Juliet, an all-time classic; and the unmissable masterpiece Brothers In Arms - the audience would probably not have forgiven Mark Knopfler for not playing it.
Recorded live at The Amphitheater Nimes, September 29th, 1992.
